Does it influence the multiplayer experience? I suppose it changes the skins but can you only play against other people with the same skins then?

Those will modify your RTW so it will be incompatible with other users. If you want to try them out make a copy of your rtw folder and rename it like "realism" then when you install the patch or mod point it to this folder and not your existing rome folder. This will then leave your multiplayer in tact for online gaming

So basically you go into your prgram files, copy the Rome folder into a newly created folder and in that new folder you put the download?

dont create a new folder
just copy and paste and then rename
you also need to check how to install the mods
some require a simple placement of files others are exe programs

I do like Rome total Realism - it is a cheeky extra for rome. But I couldnt succesfully do whatever ceasar said so it screwed up my multiplayer.
Probably my own sillyness - but i reccomend for a different and more historically accurate slant on Rome!

I need to get my ass back on rome.
Its on the get when i have a new pc list.

Is it normal when I cope and paste the folder (so that it creats the copy on its own) that it takes about half an houre? besides I did that but now all my campaigns are gone lol. Messy messy business

the copy and paste is determined by your computer speed.
What you should do before adding mods is do a fresh install of rome.
If you worried about your sav. data you need to copy that as well as any preselected armies you have.
Its a lot of work and there are lots of files you should back up

If I do find a working mod, do I install it in the Rome folder or in the data folder, etc..?
