cav vs phalax

many people counter cavalry with phalanx but you can easily beet a phalanx with 2 cav . what u do is get either side of it and charge at the exact same time you may lose a unit but i thought it would be a good tip .

This only works with the odd unit that is stranded. But to devote 2 units of Cav to 1 Unit of Phalanx means in a standard army you need 12 cav to face off against 6 Phalanx - What about his cav then - They are free to do what ever. The best is to always engage the phalanx with your inf and then rear charge with your cav - this will break any line and its often best to leave the general as this is always the hardest to break with a cav charge
