empire total war/ attack and defend

on empire total war the defender has a huge advantage over the attacker becaouse they get those few cruisual vollies that can take out a quarter of ure men befor you return fire. so the best offence is first to send ure riflemen/ snipers / scirmishers in first to pick the enime of before they wipe out ure line infantry. defending it is always good to taake a hill before setting up defences this can leave the enime crippled and made to launch a mele attack.
