Nevermore The Shadow Fiend
Nevermore The Shadow Fiend
Now this is my Favourite hero so expect it to have lots of jargon and so on so forth.
Reasons I'm writing this:
1. Had a really awesome weekend.
2. I wanna share my imbaness <3
So here he is:
Yes, I went to www.playdota.com/heroes to get the images
Thanks and enjoy the guide!!!
Nevermore The Shadow Fiend
Stats:
Strength
15 + 2
Agility
20 + 2.4
Intelligence
18 + 2
As you can see all his stats are equal so don't expect an auto-attacking imba agility hero. Also since his intel gain is so huge for an agility hero mana won't be a real problem later in the game. Just a few extra stat items will be enough for our blink BKB ulti triple raze combo and enough to land a few more valuable razes to tip the tide of the battle
Skills:
Mana Cost= 75 all levels
Damage
1. 75
2. 150
3. 225
4. 300
This is why no one wants to solo mid when the other team has Nevermore on their side. This is the most needed to perfect skill and is easy to make a mistake with. Don't expect to play 5 games and be perfect at it. I've played Nevermore atleast 50 times and still miss a raze now and then.
This is why Nevermore is picked in games and why people wanna nerf him, one important thing: It CAN damage and kill invis units so if you have full mana and have that riki sense tingling go for the random raze where you think he is. I've gotten many blind kills before and it was quite funny!
Abuse the range of this skill!!
1.The first is right in front of you and AoE is quite big
2.The second is perfect on your attack range, I mainly launch this one after I have auto-attacked cause it normally hits
3.The last is the finisher or the OMFG IMBA raze, Abuse terrain and trees with all the razes specially this one since it's just out side your attack range;)
Note: It takes out waves of creeps with 2 clicks, YES, one wave of creeps worth of gold = 150 mana. Worth it! So just go into the attacking range and press X then C and watch that gold soar!
Just an image to get an idea how the ranges of Shadow Raze are:
Big thank you to Aughing @ Replays.Net for this picture
Whenever the Shadow Fiend kills a target, he stores the unfortunate soul inside of him. For each stored soul he gains 2 bonus damage until his own death releases half of them from bondage.
1. 16
2. 30
3. 46
4. 60
This is a very important skill to Nevermore and why it's such a pain dying as him. Why I rage more when I die as him more than anyone. You lose half your damage and ur ulti isn't nearly as devastating.
This skill is taken first so it's easier to farm and so you can start on the imbaness:D
Note: You need to practice your last hitting skills if you want to play Nevermore at higher levels since the other person soloing mid will know Nevermore is useless without last hits. Be prepared for a battle for each creep since it benefits you soooo much more!!
• Heroes, denies and neutral creeps also provide Bonus damage through Necromastery.
• The more souls Nevermore has, the more powerful Requiem of Souls will be.
The presence of such a horrible creature terrifies nearby enemies, reducing their armor.
1. -2 Armour
2. -3 Armour
3. -4 Armour
4. -5 Armour
This is what Nevermore so devastating later on in the game, he has this aura which makes him a very feared hero LATE GAME. Never EVER take this this skill before lvl 8. I have seen many players take this skill over Shadow Raze and I let them know about it. Nevermore is an AoE carry and should be played so. Forget being a sissy right-clicking imba hero. Yes that +60 is strong mid game but is nothing late game.
• Fully stacks with other armor reduction abilities and auras.
Summons evil spirits around you dealing damage to units in the area. Number of spirits is related to the number of souls stored and the movement/damage reduction is related to the distance from the Shadow Fiend. Lowers movement speed and damage of nearby units. The closer the units are the greater the effect.

This in my books is what can change any battle into slaughter. It requires great practice and so to speak courage and guts to fully use this skill. If you feel nervous at all playing Nevermore at high levels go verse AI. They don't rage. The closer the enemies are to more damage it does.. What does that mean? Yes, that's right, Juke them<3
Ask David how many times I've killed him when I was in red hp and he was green to orange in a few seconds with this!
Normally what I love to do is trick them, bait the enemy while on red hp to run uphill into you or run around that tree you're hiding behind. The you time it so they on top of you when you release, the result is always devastating. Sometimes I've taken down enemy carries from FULL hp with one of these in their face.
Note: You can trick people to run with this, Press "R" then When his hands come up press "S" quickly. This rattles people and the run so they don't get hit also the cooldown doesn't start up since he never let it go. This doesn't work with other heroes cause they're not imba.
Also very good note is Lothars with this, you won't break your invisibility till he releases and there's a rare handful of people that have split second reactions and 0 latency to stun you!!
If phased with an enemy hero you do 1800 damage roughly to a hero just like that, insta kill indeed=]
• Damage type: magical
• The amount of damage dealt is related to the number of souls captured with Necromastery.
• Requiem of Souls generates damaging lines around Nevermore, 1 per 2 souls stored, for a maximum of 15 lines.
• The closer the targeted unit is, the bigger the amount of lines affecting him.
• Reduces both movement speed and attack damage of units in a 700 AoE.
• This skill breaks invisibility a short time before it's released.
• This skill has a 1 second cast time
Skill Build:
1. Necromastery
2. Shadow Raze
3. Shadow Raze
4. Necromastery
5. Shadow Raze
6. Necromastery
7. Shadow Raze
8. Necromastery
9. Stats or Requiem
10. Requiem or Stats
11. Requiem
12. Presence of the Dark Lord
13. Presence of the Dark Lord
14. Presence of the Dark Lord
15. Presence of the Dark Lord
16. Requiem
17+. Stats
Reason: You one Necromastery lvl 1 so your farming becomes easier and all those last hits come in handy. Shadow Raze is maxed out ASAP since it's your soul it's everything to Nevermore, Nevermore without Shadow Raze is like Sweets with no Sugar!
Requiem is only taken later since it's pretty useless without Necromastery maxed. Aura taken at late stage since it's more useful then when the team fights start up ;)
Items:
Pub start= Kfc, 4 gg branches, tango and salve
Comp start= 2 slippers, 2 gg branches, tango, salve
You then farm as hard as you can getting every last hit you can muster to rush for that bottle that the kfc will fetch for you. It's important you try to stay in the lane as much as possible since you must rush to your mid game because that's when you're most devastating. You want to be as dangerous as possible for the other team and as long as possible!
Just farm the bottle then some boots after which you make a magic wand and 2 wraith bands for some extra stats which equal more life and more razes:)
If you're getting ganked often get some strength treads to boost your life, if not then get BoT so you can get to those team clashes or engage them ASAP.
So it's like this:
Early Pub =
4 x
1 x
1x
Comp games =
2 x
1 x
1x
2 x
That's the basic start to Nevermore and it creates a good platform to build on=]
Early-Mid
2 x or
Mid game
or
2 x
Reason: You need that bottle to rune-whore and keeps those razes going. The stats are to give you that extra boost and the wand is that extra bit of imba regen that can and will save you multiple times. The TP scroll is since this is your most period and should be taken hold of, start team fights and land some razes to devastate your opponents!
Mid-Late Game
or
or
If there's more than 2 disablers then go for this first instead on blink or lothars
2 x
Reason: You need to be in the fights and find a way to intiate powerful ganks or preferably second to jump in after the initiator has started his job. BKB is so they cannot stop your mighty Ultimate and suffer your team as they charge in after the weakened enemy.
Late Game
or
or
Reason: Since your optimal time has gone by TP around and farm those creep waves, The best way to become a threat again is to get more stats and begin the unfortunate auto-attacking process while using your ulti as more of a weakening spell than a killing ability.
Juking
Feel I need to explain this since it is very difficult to perform properly. Even I have my moments when I get this wrong and you look very stupid if you fail it=/
Juking is basically using fog of war to your advantage
Here's a few pics of how Tews (Brilliant Nevermore user) Blinks uphill and lands all 3 razes on Treant to rack up another kill
See how he walks abit uphill so Treant thinks he's right in front of him..
He blinks and immediately casts the "C" raze. Reflexes count for this part.
While Treant is blindly walking up hill notices how Tews sends in all 3 razes. Brilliance =]
Here comes the finishing blow. Another kill for Nevermore^^
Thanks for reading my guide on my favourite hero Nevermore The Shadow Fiend.
Will build on this and insert screenshots and replays later^^
Enjoy
